Position Overview

The judicial law clerk serves as legal advisor to the Honorable Howard T. Snyder, United States Magistrate Judge.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the position, one must be a law school graduate at the time of appointment with academic standing within the upper third of the class, possess excellent research, writing, and communication skills. Applicant must possess good character, maturity, and willingness to work long hours when necessary. Experience on the editorial board of law review, moot court, and/or publication of noteworthy article is preferred. Bar membership is also preferred, but not required for appointment.

Employees of the United States District Court ARE NOT included in the Government’s Civil Service classification. They are, however, entitled to the same benefits as other federal government employees. Some of the benefits are:

year for the first three years of

government employment. Up to 26 days

per year thereafter.

Relocation expenses are not reimbursed. Applicants selected for interviews must travel at their own expense.
