Ruby Tuesday at the Landing closed Monday, catching the restaurant’s regular patrons and employees by surprise.
A Landing spokesperson said the restaurant’s lease was just days from expiring and that efforts to renew it were unsuccessful.
“Our leasing department has been in talks with them for some time, but their decision to leave was a corporate one,” said Rachel Kaltenbach, the Landing’s director of public relations. “We’re disappointed to see them go because they were very good tenants of the Landing.”
Kaltenbach was unaware of Ruby Tuesday’s contract terms or why they opted not to renew.
“All I can say is that we’re looking forward to establishing another successful partnership this year,” she said. “We’re confident we’ll be able to do that.”
Calls to Ruby Tuesday, which had been at the Landing for 10 years, were not returned.
