New City Council committees named

Incoming City Council president Elaine Brown named her Council committees Wednesday, less than 24 hours after filing legislation to alter them.

Aside from the returning committees, Brown created two new committees, Military Affairs and International Development, which will meet on a quarterly basis, and the Super Bowl committee.

Here are the committees:

Finance Committee: Reggie Fullwood (chair), Michael Corrigan (vice chair), Warren Alvarez, Daniel Davis, Lad Daniels, Kevin Hyde and Mia Jones.

Land Use and Zoning: Sharon Copeland (chair), Art Shad (vice chair), Daniel Davis, Art Graham, Lynette Self, Jerry Holland and Lake Ray.

Public Health, Safety and Utilities: Art Shad (chair), Gwen Yates (vice chair), Warren Alvarez, Michael Corrigan, Suzanne Jenkins, Pat Lockett-Felder and Faye Rustin.

Recreation and Community Development: Lynette Self (chair), Art Graham (vice chair), Sharon Copeland, Suzanne Jenkins, Mia Jones, Glorious Johnson and Gwen Yates.

Rules: Pat Lockett-Felder (chair), Mia Jones (vice chair), Lad Daniels, Kevin Hyde, Glorious Johnson, Faye Rustin and Lynette Self.

Transportation, Environment and Energy: Art Graham (chair), Glorious Johnson (vice chair), Sharon Copeland, Reggie Fullwood, Jerry Holland, Pat Lockett-Felder and Lake Ray.

Military Affairs, Audit and International Affairs: Lad Daniels (chair), Lake Ray (vice chair), Reggie Fullwood, Suzanne Jenkins, Glorious Johnson, Gwen Yates and Jerry Holland.

The new committees are:

Super Bowl Committee: Kevin Hyde (chair), Pat Lockett-Felder (vice chair), Michael Corrigan, Reggie Fullwood, Art Graham, Suzanne Jenkins and Art Shad.

Government Performance, Audit, Technology and Education: Suzanne Jenkins (chair), Kevin Hyde (vice chair), Michael Corrigan, Mia Jones, Faye Rustin, Art Shad and Gwen Yates.
