A video portraying the 60 years of history behind the Northeast Florida Builders Association debuted at the organization’s annual installation and awards banquet earlier this year.

Producer Karl Knowles, president of Knowles Video in Tallahassee, worked with the former association communication’s director Michael Bonts to depict the group’s history and important role in the community.

“Our client base is extremely diverse and includes every state agency in Florida. In addition our clients include many private sector businesses including network and nationally syndicated program producers. We have also produced program material in England, Ireland, France, Spain, Switzerland, and Brazil,” noted Knowles.

For the first time, videos were also used to introduce winners of the association’s prestigious annual awards.

“He has worked with the state builders association on numerous projects and his work in not only award winning, but very professional. He was successful in developing a clear vision in words and pictures of what the association has meant to so many,” said Emmett Reed of the Florida Home Builders Association, who emceed the program.

On Jan. 12, Bonts became director of public relations for Renaissance Creative Services, a Jacksonville-based firm that offers comprehensive real estate marketing, advertising, public relations and brand development for residential, resort and commercial real-estate projects.

“Karl was excellent. Working with a real pro like Karl was a great experience. His talent and expertise made the project that much better,” Bonts said. “The videos were edited in a way that provided the audience with a glimpse into the past and maybe the future.”

Bonts wrote and produced the association’s history and five award winner videos, scripted Reed’s remarks, developed the format for the evening’s program as a salute to six decades through news events and even arranged for special guests to be present in the audience. He also scripted the program’s sequence of events. Former local TV newsman Terry Casey served as the “news anchor.”

“Hats off to the Adam’s Mark audio and visual crew as well as Deeplight Studios. Deeplight’s Jeff Rabin wrote the six-one minute news scripts and produced the 15-second musical salute to each decade. Partner Mick Richards worked tirelessly on running the live camera and taped segments during the program,” Bonts said.

The video can now also be used as part of the group’s new member orientation program.
