The Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art is starting a book club.

JMoMA is inviting members of the public to read three contemporary novels it has selected, and to participate in a group discussion about the books. The books were chosen for their artistic themes.

“The Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown will be discussed June 24; “Plowing the Dark” by Richard Powers is scheduled for July 29; and “The Underpainter” by Jane Urquhart will be Aug. 26.

Museum staff and librarians from the Haydon Burns Library will lead discussions, which are free and open to the public. Discussions start at 7 p.m.
