According to City Council legislation filed Wednesday, a new parking lot at the Sports Complex will be funded by $1.4 million in ad valorum taxes. Construction on the lot is scheduled to begin in June. According to the Public Works Department,
construction should be done by September, providing several hundred spaces. Part of the Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan, the lot will be located at the site of the old coliseum.
