• The Rotary Clubs of Northeast Florida are seeking high school students who may be interested in spending a year overseas through the Rotary Youth Exchange program. Exchange students must be between the ages of 15 and 18 upon departure next summer, should be in the top half of their class academically and must be adaptable, adventurous and willing to learn a new language. The application deadline is mid-December. Informational meetings for interested students and their parents are scheduled in November for Jacksonville, Orange Park, Gainesville, Daytona Beach, and Ocala. The meeting schedule and reservation forms for those meetings, as well as other information about the program, are available at the local Rotary Youth Exchange website, www.ryeflorida.org. • The Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum hosts the Saturday Book Club for the Working Parent the third Saturday of every month. This month’s book is “Don’t Eat Too Much Turkey” by Miriam Cohen. The book club is for children ages 4-7 and it starts at 11 am. Admission is free. For information, call 356-2992. Also, the museum’s Women in Aviation exhibit is currently on display until Dec. 30.

• The City Rescue Mission is holding a Bed Race Saturday to race money for the mission. The race begins in Jesse Ball Dupont Park at 10 a.m. For details, call 421-5149 or 421-5180.

• Grove House will host its Orange Fest Nov. 20-21 and Dec. 4. from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Participants can pick their own basket of citrus for $25. All proceeds benefit Grove House, which works with adults with developmental and acquired disabilities. For more, call 730-3811.

• The Empty Bowls Luncheon is scheduled for Nov. 16. from noon-1 p.m. at the Radisson. Students and professional artists have created about 2,100 bowls for the event, a fundraiser for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Tickets are $25. For more, call 353-3663.
