Several influential leaders revealed their deal making secrets at Jacksonville Community Council, Inc. Forward’s half-day leadership seminar last week.
The seminar, Closing the Deal: the art and science of persuasion, brought together seven local leaders and deal-makers to speak about their experiences with coercion and compromise. The event was held at the San Jose Country Club.
The opening speaker was Dr. Suzanne Montgomery, a psychologist with an expertise in corporate psychology. There were two separate panel discussions after Montgomery’s presentation. Panelists included City Council president Elaine Brown, attorney Hank Coxe, Duval County School Board chair Martha Barrett, developer Carlton Jones, Jacksonville Business Journal publisher David Sillick and BellSouth’s Jim McCollum.
