A New York-based dinner cruise line is hoping to establish a Jacksonville presence. The JP2, a 200-foot long yacht which seats over 600 guests, will make its maiden voyage from Green Cove Springs to downtown before the end of the year. Joe Hapi, a local partner, said packages accommodating 200 or more will be available soon.
“We’re very excited to be able to offer this kind of service here in Jacksonville,” he said. “We really have no competition.” Once aboard, there will be dinner and entertainment. “It will make for a fantastic evening on the river,” said Hapi. Though primarily catering to high school and family reunions and wedding parties, special packages for Christmas, New Year’s Eve and the Super Bowl are planned.
