The renewal deadline for real estate licensees has been extended due to the hurricanes and storms that swept the state in recent months.

Real estate, one of many professions regulated by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, is currently in a renewal cycle with the deadline previously being September 30.

Licensees now have until November 15 to renew without penalty.

This extension also applies to continuing education providers who report real estate and community association manager courses to the department.

“Due to the hardships many of our licensees are facing in the aftermath of the hurricanes, it’s essential that we extend these deadlines,” said DBPR Secretary Diane Carr.

Real estate licensees include sales associates, brokers, partnerships, corporations and branch offices. All current licenses are now valid through Nov. 15.

Two other professions are affected: alcoholic beverage licensees and community association managers.
