• Dr. James B. Crooks, author of “Jacksonville: The Consolidation Story, from Civil Rights to the Jaguars,” will discuss the book at a program hosted by the Jacksonville Historical Society. It’s scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Old St. Andrews Church.

• The First Coast Metropolitan Planning Organization will hold its next board meeting Thursday at 10 a.m. at the MPO office on Prudential Drive.

• The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is hosting Cummer Cafe Night Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Personal accounts of Jacksonville’s heyday in film history are part of the program. Members from the Norman family will share personal stories about growing up on the site of Arlington’s Norman Studios in the gallery around these dynamic art posters.

• The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra’s Plugged In Series concert scheduled for Nov. 27 will feature The Dave Matthews Cover Band instead of Keller Williams. It begins at 8 p.m. at the T-U Center.

• Dr. Stephen Bloomfield received the Key Psychologist of the Year Award from the Florida Psychological Association. Dr. Bloomfield specializes in forensic and clinical psychology.
