• For those of you who miss the old home of the Jacksonville Suns (and there must be a few of you out there,) Saturday’s game against Mississippi provides a chance to reminisce. The team will be giving out die-cast replicas of Wolfson Park to the first 3,000 people through the gates. Doors open at 5:30 for the 7:05 game.

• There have been a lot of suggestions about a solution to the City’s County Courthouse predicament, here’s a new one to throw into the mix: build it into the Osborn Center. Attorney Jim Rinaman, a member of the mayor’s special committee on the courthouse, was asked about the idea at a young lawyers gathering last week. Rinaman admitted the idea has some merit, the Osborn is about the right size and it would keep the building in LaVilla. But he said a more likely use for the Osborn is as a transportation hub, as envisioned by City Council President Elaine Brown and others, or as an expanded convention center.

• Apologies to the Community Foundation for an incorrect City Note on Tuesday. A letter they sent was addressed to Pat Moran of J. M. Family Enterprises (not former Chief of Staff Audrey Moran, as we stated) and copied to the City of Jacksonville.

• The Chamber kicks off its new fundraising scheme with a River Club reception tonight. They’re forming a big-name group to increase sponsorship so they can have better events. Leerie Jenkins of RS&H chairs it and he’s got the heavy hitters on his committee.

• We’re losing a public-access golf course. The owners of West Meadows, located near Cecil Commerce Center, have sold out to the school board.

• And rumors of the Dreamette closing are very untrue. The ice cream parlor has been a Westside tradition for over 50 years and they’re still open, though they’re cutting back a little. Closed on Mondays, closed at 6:30 p.m.

• Reminder: Newly elected Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland will be sworn in today during a 10 a.m. ceremony at the Elections Office on Monroe Street.

• The good weather didn’t slow down those who participate in the noon spinning class at the Riverside YMCA. There was a full house of 23 doing the stationary bicycle exercises.

• Best wishes to Kassi Belz and Alezia Batson. Both familiar faces at The Dalton Agency, Belz and Batson are leaving the firm after working together for more than three years. Belz has a gotten a job in Las Vegas. Batson is leaving for Washington, D.C.
