Erik Hart may not have the largest or the cushiest office in Jacksonville, but he can certainly boast having one the most entertaining locations downtown to spend his weekdays.
The president of the Florida Theatre for almost 20 years, Hart’s third floor digs in the Florida Theatre Building on East Forsyth Street are small, but cozy. Framed posters and portraits grace its walls, odd knickknacks and family photos line the shelves.
But it’s not the theater’s boisterous concerts, elaborate stage shows and intimate performances that he uses for his primary decorating inspiration, Hart said. Rather it’s the personal touches that make it unique.
“I prefer to be surrounded by things that remind me of home and my family while I’m in my office,” Hart said. “It’s not like I need to be reminded of the work I do while I’m at work. That doesn’t make very much sense.”
