The Jacksonville Association of Defense Counsel elected new officers Dec. 5 at its final meeting for the year. The council is a group of about 35 lawyers whose practice consists of at least 50 percent defense work.

“We are an organization of defense attorneys working mostly with insurance companies, business owners, nursing homes, doctors or architects. We don’t do divorce law or criminal law,” said Jeri O’Hara of O’Hara Spradley and newly elected vice president of the council.

The JADC also provides continuing legal education and networking opportunities, said O’Hara.

Other newly elected officers are President Edward Birk of Marks Gray; Secretary David Anderson of Cole, Stone, Stoudemire and Morgan; Treasurer Kristy Gavin and Liaison Crystal Broughan both of Gobelman, Love, Gavin, Blazs and Wasilenko.
