Florida Attorney General, Charlie Crist, will deliver the commencement address at Saturday’s Florida Coastal School of Law graduation ceremony.
The school expects to graduate approximately 60 students during the 3 p.m. ceremony at the Lazarra Fine Arts Center at the University of North Florida.
“It is an honor and a privilege to speak to such an esteemed group of graduates and future colleagues,” said Crist, who was the first Republican to be elected attorney general of Florida on Nov. 5, 2002. “They have received an outstanding and practical legal education from a fine institution. I look forward to seeing great things from the class of 2005.”
Crist was elected to the Florida senate in 1992 and represented the Tampa area for six years. During his two terms, Crist served as chairman of both the Senate Ethics and Elections Committee and the Appropriations Criminal Justice Sub-committee. In 1999, Gov. Jeb Bush appointed Cirst as deputy secretary for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. In 2001, Crist was elected Florida’s Education Commissioner, a post he held for two years.
