The Thursday party honoring longtime Public Defender Lou Frost will feature a roast by attorney Hank Coxe and live music by the Landon Walker Trio.
The event will be at 6 p.m. at the Morocco Shrine Center on St. Johns Bluff Rd. There will be hors d’oeuvres, free wine and beer, and a cash bar.
Frost retired last year after being the elected public defender for the Fourth Judicial Circuit for 36 years.
Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door at by calling the law office of Teresa Sopp at 350-6677. She is part of a large committee which includes representatives from all areas of the legal community.
Frost’s retirement function had been scheduled earlier but was postponed due to his treatments for cancer. He has recovered and the disease is in remission.
Frost earlier was honored by the Jacksonville Bar Association, which made him a “Fellow” in the Florida Bar Foundation.
