The Jacksonville Fraternal Order of Police did its part making a Merry Christmas.

The FOP sent members out in its annual “Shop with a FOP Cop” program, giving 100 children from disadvantaged areas each $75 to spend at Regency Mall. The children were selected by Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Jacksonville Housing Authority, 100 Black Men, Police Athletic League, and The Mayor’s Hispanic American Advisory Board.

Four charities also received $55,000 with the most - $40,000 - going to the Police Athletic League. Getting $5,000 checks were the American Heart Association, Sickle Cell and Spina Bifida.
