The Florida Coastal School of Law will present a Sports Law Symposium on February 3 at the PGA Tour Media Center in Ponte Vedra Beach. The symposium will discuss legal issues of the sports industry, including aspects of producing a Super Bowl. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the program begins at 9:45 a.m. A reception will follow at 3:30 p.m.
The day-long symposium will focus on legal issues in producing special sporting events, new intellectual property issues, current labor issues in the NFL, and sponsorship agreements. The event will also feature a host of sports and sports-law experts such as luncheon keynote speaker Stan Kasten, former president of the Atlanta Hawks and the Atlanta Braves.
Other speakers include Jeff Pash, general counsel, National Football League; Richard Berthelsen, general counsel, National Football League Players Association; Paul Vance, general counsel/director of football operations, Jacksonville Jaguars; Ray Anderson, executive vice president, Atlanta Falcons; and Jeffrey Gewirtz, counsel, The Coca-Cola Company.
