Members of several city organizations gathered in front of Alltel Stadium Monday to announce the city-wide Super City Cleanup scheduled for January 22 from 8-11:30 a.m. The cleanup day is a collaboration of volunteers from city and government agencies, the Environmental Protection Board, citizens, local organizations and businesses.
Several locations in Jacksonville are marked for the cleanup project to get the city looking its best by the Super Bowl. There will also be a hazardous waste collection the same day from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“The Super City Cleanup is a fantastic way to get involved in Super Bowl XXXIX and show the world why we are so proud to be from Jacksonville,” Mayor John Peyton said.
Locations slated for cleanup and other information about the event is available on City website, www.coj.net.
