A charity event organized by City Council member Art Graham raised more than $6,000 for cancer research over the weekend.
Hundreds arrived at Hanna Park Saturday, hungry for food and ready to have fun. Both were in ample supply, as a $20 ticket to the Beach Bash fundraiser guaranteed an endless supply of surf, sand and golden fried turkey.
“We were really pleased with how everything went,” Graham said this week. “We raised money for a good cause and had a good time doing it.”
All proceeds benefited the American Cancer Society.
