CSX Transportation teamed up with Sheriff John Rutherford and members of the northeast Florida community to raise $150,000 for area charities.
Hosted by CSX, the Giving Train departed from the Osborn Center for an excursion reminiscent of the days when trains departed there on a regular basis.
The funds raised will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Police Athletic League (of Duval and Clay counties,) Hubbard House and the American Heart Association.
Guests enjoyed fine dining, live entertainment and dancing aboard the CSX private business cars.
This is the second year CSX has operated the Giving Train, raising more than $210,000 for local charities.
