Clayton has been appointed as an Assistant General Counsel with the Office of General Counsel for the City. He will be working in the Government Operations Department.

Those Thursday evenings at The Grotto wine bar are paying off for First Coast Legal PR partner Claudia Oltean. In addition to her job generating buzz for local attorneys, Oltean writes a wine column “Vines by the Glass” for the Ponte Vedra Recorder. Coker, Myers bowls for Spina Bifida
Coker, Myers, Schickel, Sorenson and Green was one of the corporate sponsors for the 19th annual Bowl-a-Thon to benefit the Spina Bifida Association of Jacksonville. The event has become an annual outing for partner Howard Coker and wife Fran who both sit on the association’s board of directors. Executive Director Stephanie King said the event raised more than $5,000, which will go toward treatment of the disease and recreational and educational programs.
New look for Florida Bar website
The Florida Bar unveiled last week an overhauled website designed to make all of its online services more accessible. The site is also moving from www.flabar.org to www.floridabar.org. Users who log into the old site will be automatically routed to the new site. According to the Bar’s news service, the redesign was a priority of president Kelly Overstreet Johnson. Bar staff researched other legal websites over the past year and measured the parts of the Bar’s old site that attracted the most visitors. Those links were made the most accessible.
High flyer for Spohrer Wilner
Spohrer, Wilner, Maxwell and Matthews partner Sean Cronin received certification from the Florida Bar Board June 1 for practice in aviation law. Cronin becomes the fifth member of the firm to receive board certification in the area. The firm has the largest number of attorneys certified in aviation by the Florida Bar. Board certification distinguishes Cronin as an attorney with special knowledge, skills and proficiency in aviation law and distinguishes him as a specialist in the practice area. Cronin is an FAA certified pilot and continues to serve as a commander in the Naval Air Reserve.
