All eyes on Foley

Four attorneys and seven areas of practice in Foley & Lardner’s Jacksonville office have been ranked and are listed in the 2005 edition of trade publication Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers. Foley & Lardner’s top practice areas were antitrust,

bankruptcy, construction, corporate/M&A, employment, insurance and real estate. The four attorneys recognized by the guide are Charles Commander III, Gardner Davis, Linda Kelso and City Council president-elect Kevin Hyde.

From on air to behind the scenes

Former First Coast News reporter Tracy Sadeghian has launched a new company called Media Masters Group. The firm specializes in public relations and earned media for select law firms. The firm also conducts media training at its San Marco Office.

Condolences

Benita Hetherington, a long-time legal assistant at East Bay Street law firm Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman and Goggin, died June 10, after a brave battle with cancer. Legal assistant Laura Reinhardt said “her kindness and sunny disposition touched many lives and she will be missed by all.” Condolences can be sent to her family at 2728 Oakdale Drive West, Orange Park, Fla. 32073.

Judicial vacancy

The state legislature’s recent approval of a new Duval County judgeship has created a judicial vacancy. Applicants must be registered Florida voters, have been a member in good standing of the Florida Bar for the preceding five years, and reside in Duval County upon assuming office. Application forms are available on the Florida Bar’s web site: www.flabar.org or from the office of Mary Bland Love, chair of the Fourth Judicial Nominating Commission at the law offices of Gobelman, Love, Gavin, Blazs and Wasilenko: 815 South Main Street, Suite 300. The original application and nine copies must be turned in by July 14 at noon. Interviews will take place July 29, in the Duval County Courthouse, Room 220. The nominating committee will send at least three names to Gov. Jeb Bush, who will make the decision.
