It hosted a Scrabble Soiree Thursday night at Saint John’s Episcopal Cathedral. The Jacksonville legal community was well represented among more than 50 teams. Teams paid $500 entrance fees and individual players bought vowels for $10 a piece. The money has yet to be tallied but the event is expected to raise more than $15,000. Spohrer Wilner, Maxwell and Matthews was an event sponsor, and Coker, Myers, Schickel, Sorenson and Green sponsored several tables. The down side to playing Scrabble with lawyers?
