Take a look around Steve Wallace’s downtown office and you’ll quickly notice one very important fact: the guy is connected. In fact Wallace, in his seventh year as president of Florida Community College at Jacksonville, has probably met with more international A-listers than many of the area’s most prominent business and political heavy hitters combined.

Located on the fourth floor of FCCJ’s downtown administration offices, Wallace’s office is filled to the brim with assorted framed achievements, landmark encounters and personal mementos from around the world.

When asked about the keepsakes, the modest Wallace simply says they are the product of a job well done.

“Essentially my role here is to establish solid working relationships with various groups from around the world,” Wallace said. “I’ve had some amazing experiences doing what I do and it’s nice to look around and see mementos from the most

significant of those experiences.”
