Applications will be accepted every Monday in March for the Northeast Florida Builders Association Apprentice programs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and heating and air-conditioning.

With record growth in the housing industry in and around Jacksonville, the demand for trained, skilled workers is increasing exponentially. In fact, the single most often-heard complaint from area builders is a lack of trained workers.

To help meet that need, NEFBA has made apprentice training a major focus for 31 years. As of the May 2004 graduation, 1,303 apprentices have been trained in NEFBA’s four-year programs.

For more information about the requirements for admission or the program, contact Laura Laseman, NEFBA Training Director, at 725-4355, ext. 233, or visit the NEFBA Web site - www.nefba.com, and click on Community & Training/Apprenticeship.
