The Professional Directory is being prepared and attorneys can get updated photos taken at Bailey Publishing & Communications offices on Newnan Street between 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. No appointment necessary.

• The City Council voted in its new officers Tuesday evening just minutes before its regular meeting. Kevin Hyde was elected the 2005-06 president and Michael Corrigan will fill the vice president spot. Both will be installed in a ceremony, probably on June 28 or July 5. It may be the first time that the top two positions have been filled by people from the same district: Hyde is an at-large member and Corrigan represents Hyde’s Avondale district.

• Dani Wilson from the Mayor’s Office is saying goodbye. An aide to John Peyton’s administration, Wilson is going to work for the Jacksonville Children’s Commission.

• A meeting of the minds (and perhaps some complaints from ticket holders) cleared up an issue regarding tickets at this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament. Originally, tournament officials said the tickets were actually day passes and could not be used by anyone else that day. In other words, if you wanted to attend a morning game, you couldn’t give your ticket to someone else for an evening game. The ACC, City and Suns got together and now you can give your ticket for that day to someone else.

• According to Downtown Vision Inc., 43 percent of the restaurants downtown still serve lunch and breakfast only. But casual restaurants serving dinner now make up 22 percent of the downtown eateries. Fast food spots are next with about 10 percent of the market followed by nightclubs and fine dining.

• The local Georgia Tech booster club boasts one of the largest rosters in town with about 900 former Yellow Jackets registered in the area. But don’t expect to see all of them at the baseball tournament games this week. Club president Mark Murphy said about a third of his members graduated somewhere from 1935 to 1950 and they don’t get out to the ball park much.

• Give the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission credit for staying on message. It sends out a list of commission highlights on its fax cover sheets.

• Former Adam’s Mark catering director Dan Dablow quickly relocated after the Hyatt moved in — he’s now running the catering operation at St. Augustine’s Casa Monica Hotel.

• Place your bets now: the Las Vegas lines came out Tuesday and the Jaguars are three-point favorites over Seattle in their opener here on Sept. 11.
