Several long-term city employees got to do something they probably haven’t done in a while Monday morning — they took a break. Mayor John Peyton held his quarterly service pin ceremony in his office Monday and 10 Jacksonville employees were recognized for their long tenures of employment with the city. Peyton presented James Greathouse, an employee in the city’s planning and development department, with a diamond service pin, which represents 35 years of service to the city. Also receiving service pins were Florence Patterson and Albertha M. McTeer for their 30 years of service. Seven individuals received 25-year service pins: Charles F. Smith, Deanna M. Gilhousen, John M. McAndrews, Connie Whiddon, Sandra Platt, Tim Ricks and Anthony Asberry.
