Hundreds of Jacksonville’s most recognizable faces including former mayors, City Council members and state representatives braved the Florida heat Friday, as the ribbon was cut on the Jacksonville Children’s Commission new home. Located on the corner of A. Philip Randolph Boulevard and First Street, the 46,000 square foot center houses both the JCC’s administrative offices as well as the Brewer Early Learning Center.
“This project is the culmination of a vision that begins with children’s advocates in our community,“ City Council President Kevin Hyde said. “It is the result of sustained collaboration and effort, and represents our community’s ongoing commitment to raising great, well-educated and successful kids.”
More than 30,000 children are serviced by the JCC and its programs.
