The Honorable James E.C. Perry, former Chief Judge of Florida’s 18th Judicial Circuit, spoke at the Florida Coastal School Law Issues 2005 Forum on Thursday. The school’s Center for Law and Public Policy hosted the event. Perry discussed “Ethics in Action – Practical Advice for Lawyers Living in a Cynical World.” Perry received his law degree from Columbia University Law School in New York. He served as family administrative judge in Seminole County, and was also vice president-general counsel for Seminole Employment. He was the first African-American appointed to the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit.
