Engle Homes, a member of the Tousa family of homebuilders, plans to build 141 homes in the Callahan community of Amhurst Oaks.

“This area of Northeast Florida is blossoming and we look forward to meeting area residents’ demands for quality, innovative home designs,” said Andy Chambers, division president of Engle Homes. “We expect Amhurst Oaks will be well received in Callahan because of its outstanding location and well-designed homes.”

Amhurst Oaks, located on 39 acres just northwest of Callahan on U.S. Highway 1 and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., includes plans for extraordinary home designs ranging in size from 1,483 square feet to 2,085 square feet. Construction on homes in the community is expected to begin during the first quarter of 2006.

The homesites in Amhurst Oaks will be 60 by 120 feet. Some will have preservation views or proximity to one of the two community lakes. A tot lot is also planned for the community.
