A recent fishing expedition to Panama brought two Jacksonville trial lawyers closer to nature and their families.
Tom Edwards of Peek, Cobb, Edwards and Ashton and personal injury attorney Jeffrey Morrow spent a week in Panama recently introducing their sons, Tommy Jr. and Slayton, to the sport of deep sea fishing.
“It’s a great way to spend time with your kid,” said Morrow. “Usually the first question they ask on vacation is ‘When do we get to play video games?’ But they never complained about no TV, no video games, they never complained about the 5 a.m. wakeups.”
The trip also introduced the children to native Panamanian culture. The Tropic Star Lodge where the group stayed was next to a native village. The kids marveled at the natives’ bare bones existence, which was largely spent sans clothes.
“Ordinarily, they want guests to take their clothes off too, but they looked at Jeff and gave us a pass,” joked Edwards.
