Downtown was turned into a jazz and arts festival for April’s First Wednesday Art Walk.

The Art Walk served as the Jacksonville Jazz Festival’s pre-party where jazz musicians and bands joined artists at various locations around Downtown.

To kick off the event, the Otis Smith Kids Foundation unleashed their first Big Cat For Kids. The rest of the cats will be on the prowl around Jacksonville during the first week of September through May 2007.

Ligel Lambert, the artist of this year’s Jazz Festival poster was selling signed and numbered copies of the poster.

Those who attended the Art Walk mingled with local artists and enjoyed the sounds of jazz in preparation of the Jazz Festival that starts with tonight’s jazz piano competition at the Florida Theatre and continues with performances Friday-Sunday at Metropolitan Park.
