Mary Grant of West 19th Street was the first one to cast a ballot at the Supervisor of Elections Office Monday morning when early voting started at 10 a.m. Grant, who has lived in Jacksonville for 79 years, said she wasn’t planning to be first, it just worked out that way. “I was just in the area and I got here a little early,” said Grant, who had to wait a few minutes for the polls to open. Voters have a choice between touch screen voting or a paper ballot. Grant opted for a paper ballot. Early voting will continue through Sept. 3 for the Sept. 5 primary.
