• The daniel home’s motorcycle ride was big in every way, they say. It raised $176,000 and there were 750 participants with 150 turned away.

• Single game Jaguars tickets go on sale Saturday and there’s not much left. Three games are sold out and four more are on the edge, and ticket boss Scott Loft says those will be gone by Tuesday. That leaves the Nov. 12 Houston game for latecomers.

• Reynolds Smith & Hills recently opened its 25th office a couple of weeks ago in Denver. Expect an office in Utah in the near future.

• The volunteer leadership of The Players golf tournament gathers tonight for their annual get-together. Dubbed the “Redcoats” for their ceremonial jackets, they’ll be at the World Golf Village.

• They just don’t make them like they used to. Joel McEachin, the City’s principal planner for historic preservation, said that while the original terrazzo in front of the old Roosevelt Hotel lasted for more than 90 years, “The new one is not doing well and it’s getting to be a safety hazard.” He added that he thinks that Vestcor, the development company that converted the Roosevelt into apartments, “Has got to address it by virtue of the safety issue.” McEachin also pointed out that replacing the terrazzo after the original walkway was destroyed during renovation of The Carling was part of Vestcor’s historic trust fund agreement with the City.

• The Sulzbacher Center’s annual big fundraiser at the Florida Theatre — Transformations — is Sept. 28. There will be an outdoor reception at 6 p.m. followed by the 7:30 program.

• St. John & Partners handles nationwide advertising and public relations for Clearwire, the wireless Internet provider. SJ&P sent two representatives to Honolulu this week to set up operations there for Clearwire, which is now in all 50 states.

• During a photo shoot at Alltel Stadium for an upcoming issue of Downtown This Week magazine with Jaguars wide receiver Ernest Wilford, some Jaguars fans who were visiting from Canada stopped by to see the stadium. By the time they left, they had taken snapshots with Wilford and he autographed a football and gave it to them. A member of the Roar who was also part of the layout pulled a Sharpie out of her boot for the autograph, something football players aren’t allowed to do.

• Now that’s loud. A JEA maintenance truck honked its horn on Bay Street in front of the City Hall Annex and the alarms went off on two parked cars.

• The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors is holding a “Move the Vote” press conference Friday to encourage voters to update their voter registration cards when they move. The association has invited several government and elected officials on behalf of the Supervisor of Elections offices for Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties to the press conference at the NEFAR offices where they’ll announce a partnership with local elections offices and they’re hoping it catches on statewide.
