Said and Samira Samaan have sold Break Time inside Independent Square. Friday was Said’s last day at the store where he and his wife, Samira, have sold gourmet coffee, ice cream, soft drinks and all those things you need in a pinch since 1993. The couple will spend their time traveling and enjoying their grandchildren and, hopefully, retirement. “I have mixed feelings about leaving the store. All my customers are my friends. It’s like a family here,” he said. Samira will remain behind the counter for two weeks to introduce the new owner to their customers. “The name will be the same. The store will be the same. Only the people will be different,” she said.
