Attorneys compete in annual Scrabble Soiree

Learn to Read, Inc. hosted its 9th Annual Scrabble Soiree Thursday at the St. John’s Cathedral in Downtown Jacksonville. Nearly 90 people played “table scrabble” competitively during the evening, and Learn to Read raised more than $15,000.

The attending scrabble players represented a mix of local businesses, attorneys and educators. The team representing Florida Community College at Jacksonville won first place with a score of 2,514 points. Learn to Read is a nonprofit adult literacy organization
