The Amelia Island/Nassau County Association of Realtors welcomed one of their own to last month’s meeting.

John Drew, who was formerly in the mortgage business, was recently elected as tax collector. He came to the meeting held at the Fernandina Beach Municipal Golf Course last month to give the Realtors updates on the changes in the tax collector office, tax issues, and then opened up the floor to questions.

He said they have cross-trained the employees in his office, so there are more people to handle the work coming in. He also said they increased the salaries of the employees to cut down on turn-over in the office.

Also, during the meeting the association unveiled plans for an addition to their existing building located on 14th Street in Fernandina Beach.
