The Northeast Florida Builders Association and the Sales and Marketing Council held their annual 2006 installation and awards breakfast Friday at the University of North Florida.

Jerry Linder was serenaded by the house band with “Hail to the Chief” as he proceeded to the podium to be sworn in as the new president of the builders association. Linder then swore Pud English of Palencia Realty in as chairperson for the 2006 executive committee for SMC.

Linder said the organization has a strong history of helping people in need to fulfill the American dream of owning a home. This year, NEFBA will focus on veterans because they have special housing needs, he said.

“These are real heroes who have paid the ultimate price so we can enjoy the freedom we have. We have to find a way as an association to help veterans,” said Linder. “We will continue to do good work.”
