The sandwich shop at the corner of Forsyth and Ocean has a new name and a new sign, but the subs and staff haven’t changed. After six years with King Kong on the wall, Jackie Smith and his son Paul decided to do their own thing. On Jan. 1 they left the Larry’s Giant Subs franchise system and became Jax City Subs. The menu hasn’t changed, but now the sandwiches are named after downtown Jacksonville landmarks.
