• The Dalton Agency recently acquired Morgan and Partners and now they are on the move, too. Effective Thursday, the firm will be in the Avmed Building on the Southbank.

• Attorney Jeff Morrow’s reputation as a practical joker is well known in Jacksonville’s legal community, but his sense of humor occasionally extends to the media as well. After getting through recently to a Daily Record reporter who’s leaving for law school, Morrow barked into the phone: “This is Joe Montgomery from Rutgers Law. I’m sorry but there’s been a mistake, I’m afraid we can’t accept you.” Only Morrow’s laughter gave him away.

• Adult care providers in Jacksonville are organizing to protest the loss of public funding for adult day care. The Senior Advocacy Information Networking Team comprises representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association, the Women’s Center of Jacksonville, ElderSource, the Duval County Council on Elder Affairs, Urban Jacksonville, Inc., SAGES Coalition, Inc., Almost Home Daybreak and the United Way of Northeast Florida. SAINT recently asked Mayor John Peyton to work with the City Council to reinstate the $150,000 Public Service Grant.

• Kristen Key is on the move again, this time back to City Hall. The former press secretary for Mayor John Peyton was with the Jacksonville Children’s Commission. As of Thursday, Key will take a position in the City’s Public Information Office. She’ll still coordinate media and public relations for Peyton’s Rally Jacksonville! Initiative.

• Speaking of moving, Dave Roman has moved from the City’s Public Information Office to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue.

• Little-known fact. There are three indoor racquetball courts inside the University of North Florida’s arena.

• The First Tee of Jacksonville is having a big fundrasier this fall called “A Taste of Golf” and the event will feature 15 of the area’s top golf clubs and their chefs including Palencia, Pablo Creek, Timuquana Country Club, San Jose and Amelia Island Plantation, just to name a few.

• One local, Betsy Zahn, is at the Special Olympics USA National Games in Ames, Iowa this July Fourth holiday. Zahn is a swimmer and was a triple gold medalist for the past two years. She swims the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and the 50 backstroke.

• In late May, the City switched e-mail programs and while there was an expected lag in which the public would be able to view the e-mails of elected and appointed officials. A mayor’s office spokesperson said in early June the e-mails would be updated. However, a check Monday revealed that the e-mails haven’t been posted since June 1.
