Jacksonville University designer Jonathan Christire and JU student assistant, Jono Lucas helped install the first of 600 cobalt blue glass horns in the ceiling of the Times-Union Center Monday. A group of about 20 students, along with several faculty members from the College of Fine Arts, spent a year creating the glass and stainless steel sculpture for the City, called “Lyrical Light.” The three stainless steel bars and the horns are valued at about $500,000 and will be completely installed by today. A formal dedication ceremony is yet to be announced.
