The Arnold Tritt Scholarship Fund got a $10,000 boost this month.

Daniel Blanchard of the Blanchard Land Company presented a check at June’s Northeast Florida Builders Association meeting.

The fund, which honors the association’s longtime executive director, was established to assist students enrolled in the Building Construction Management program at the University of North Florida.

The scholarships are awarded to University of North Florida Construction Management program students based on financial need. To date, more than $25,000 has been distributed.

Nearly 100 builders gathered for the NEFBA board meeting and here’s some of the other business:

• HabiJax President Mary Kay O’Rourke thanked the members of NEFBA for all their work during Habitat International Blitz Build, during which 22 NEFBA builders built 30 houses, the most of any organization in the country.

• Three Northeast Florida Builders Association members received Spike awards: Glenn Layton, Bryan Lendry and Bobby Walton. The Spike Club is the National Association of Home Builders’ recognition and incentive program for individuals working in membership recruitment and retention. Based upon credits earned, there is a progressive program of awards including pins, certificates, plaques, sweaters and blazers. The trio received Life Spike awards for earning 25 or more credits.
