Fourteen past presidents of the Northeast Florida Builders Association were treated to a cruise on the Halcyon to celebrate Presidents Day. Members of NEFBA’s Executive Committee also attended the four-hour lunch cruise recently. Past President Harry Roddenberry (1973) was on hand to see the group off.

In its 62-year history, NEFBA has had 61 presidents. NEFBA’s first president, Joseph Davin served two terms, the only president to do so.

Two women have served as president. The first, Mary Louise Dungey, was president in 1999, and Denise Wallace served in 2002 and 2003.

Only builders can serve in the association’s highest office.

Among NEFBA’s past presidents are two pairs of brothers: Jack and Bill Demetree and Crosby and Paul Dawkins. Two of NEFBA’s past presidents are brother and sister: Hawley Smith and Mary Louise Dungey.

Florida Home Builders Insurance sponsored the event.
