Jacksonville University held its seventh annual Women’s History Month Luncheon Wednesday to honor four distinctive women in the community. Dr. Frances Bartlett Kinne, Chancellor Emeritus and past JU president, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Kinne is the recipient of more than 44 honors and awards, many of which were “firsts” for women. Other awards included: Jean Ludlow, Women’s History Month JU Community Woman of the Year and Lorice V. Gregory, JU Woman of the Year. Ashleigh Heath received the JU Student of the Year as well as the Dr. Frances Bartlett Kinne Award for her contributions to JU and the community. “I feel honored because of my experience at JU,” said Heath. “I wanted to give back. I never thought I’d get an award for doing what I’m supposed to do — something I love to do.” Pictured above are Heath, Kinne and JU President Kerry Romesburg.
