The local real estate association has outgrown its offices and will move to larger space in the Baymeadows area.

The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors built an office building near the Avenues Mall on Southside Boulevard about five years ago and now is moving to a two-story office building on Baymeadows Way.

The old building, at the entrance to Deercreek Country Club, is on the market and bids are being accepted through May 25.

The new building has over five times the space — from approximately 10,000 square feet to over 50,000 — with about 265 parking spaces. Another tenant is in the building but there will be ample space for both NEFAR and its affiliate, Northeast Florida Multiple Listing Service.

“Due to our great growth in membership during the past several years, we are currently at the maximum teaching and staffing capacity for NEFAR and NEFMLS,” said Glenn East, NEFAR’s chief executive officer.

He said that his board reviewed options for expansion at the current corporate site.

“While adequate office space could be added to meet the necessary expansion needs, adequate parking remained an unresolved issue,” he said.
