Tuesday, 18 members of the First United Methodist Church braved chilly weather and blustery winds to begin a new project to clean up the streets of Downtown. After a prayer on the steps of the church led by Senior Pastor Chuck Salter (center) the congregation picked up the trash in a 10-block area bordered by Market, Washington, Church and Bay streets. “We believe God has called us for the opportunity to connect with people and the real needs of Downtown. We’re grateful to be able to be the example for other people,” said Salter.
