City Council member Kevin Hyde and Downtown Living Tour Chairman Joe Snowberger were at Friday’s meeting of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Downtown Council. Hyde spoke to about 60 members of the Council about the City’s 2006-07 budget. Before giving an overview of how the City’s $902 million budget will be allocated, Hyde touched on Downtown living. “In 2003 we were routinely approving developmental properties and we aren’t seeing that anymore because the private sector is taking over,” said Hyde, who’s an attorney with Foley & Lardner. “That is exactly what we hoped would happen. It’s a wonderful thing.”
