The Sales and Marketing Council of the Northeast Builders Association is organizing a Thanksgiving Turkey Trot run/walk held in the Palencia community on Saturday, Nov. 18.

It will benefit Trinity Rescue Mission, which assists the homeless, and Builders Care, a nonprofit division of the Northeast Florida Builders Association established to reduce substandard housing by providing repair to seriously deteriorated homes belonging to the low income, elderly and disabled.

Runners and walkers of all ages can participate in the 5K Run or Walk (about one mile). The race begins at 8 a.m. and registration is open at 7 a.m. Before Nov. 10, the entry fee is $15 for the Walk and $20 for the 5K; after November 11 until race day, Nov. 18, it is $20 to walk and $25 for the 5K. Walkers pay less because they are not eligible for prizes.

All entrants receive a t-shirt. Awards will be given to the top two male runners and top two female runners in each age group - Under 15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.
