Deposition seminar

Don Maciejewski, a partner with Zisser, Robison, Brown, Nowlis & Maciejewski, is presenting a one-day seminar Oct. 27 for attorneys interested in maximizing their skills in taking and defending effective depositions. It’s at the Hyatt from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The Florida Bar has approved the seminar for seven hours of CLE credit, including an hour of ethics credit. New PV firm

Tom Asbury has partnered with attorneys Bruce Bullock and Bruce Bullock Jr. to form Asbury & Bullock in Marsh Landing in Ponte Vedra. The firm will specialize in real estate law, corporate law, estate planning and complex civil litigation.

Red Mass this week

The Catholic Lawyers Guild is holding its 17th annual Red Mass Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on East Duval Street. Bishop Victor Galeone will preside over the 5:30 mass. The Red Mass is a centuries old religious service intended to bring together government and the law in an effort to receive spiritual direction. The Red Mass originated in Paris in the 13th Century. By the 14th Century, the Red Mass tradition had spread to England and Italy.
